CWA Performance Management

For FY2009, Article 41, Wages, of the collective bargaining unit between The Ohio State University and the Communication Workers of America (CWA) provides for a 2% salary increase.  In addition, in Side Letter #15, the parties agreed to  implement a university-wide pilot pay for performance program that provides bargaining unit members with the ability to earn from 0% up to an additional 2% in base pay this year based on performance.

Forms and materials for the pilot pay for performance program are listed below along with brief descriptions:

CWA Performance Management Process - This document provides process timelines and guidelines for implementation of the pay for performance pilot program.

CWA Performance Review Form (CWA bargaining unit members only) (Due May 9th) - This form is used to evaluate performance through a two-way discussion between supervisor and employee, as well as written documentation of performance.  The review should focus on employee performance relating to areas of excellence, areas for improvement, and development needs.  Information from the performance review is used in making human resources decisions; therefore, documentation of performance is critical.  Completed reviews should be discussed with the staff member, signed by the supervisor/manager and staff member and forwarded to the office of human resources by May 9, 2008.

Supervisor Feedback Form (Due June 30, 2008) - The Supervisor Feedback form provides bargaining unit members with the opportunity to provide feedback on their supervisor.  This form should be returned to the office of human resources no later than June 30, 2008.  The feedback will be shared with Dr. James Woolard, Superintendent of Facilities and Support Services.

Communication Workers of America (CWA) contract - The current contract is available for review including Article 41, Wages and Side Letter #15, Pilot Pay for Performance Program.
