At least three Honors classes are offered every quarter, as well as many upper-level courses that serve as Honors courses for freshmen and sophomores. The lower-level classes mainly fulfill GECs. Some classes, designed as Honors-embedded, can also provide Honors credit with the permission of the instructor. The professor and student work together to design an Honors component to the class. This typically involves an extra or more in-depth assignment and individual meetings with the professor.
Honors students may sign up for any Honors course. Other students in good academic standing may also register for Honors courses. Students who are Honors-eligible may request admission to the class at the front desk of the Ohio State Newark advising office, in Founders Hall. Students who are not yet Honors-eligible but believe they can contribute to the class can register with the permission of the instructor. Those permission forms should be picked up from the Advising office and taken to the instructor for her or her signature.
