DNA
Carrie Lough

So what if you were to believe
That life is controlled by genes,
No one is ever born free
Cause DNA is just encoded destiny?

That your genes pick your fate
Due to your inherited traits
Even before the first breath you take.

And how you live your life
Isn’t about the choices you will make,
But pray there is not a genetic mistake.
Just one wrong combination of alleles,
An inherited disease… your life is sealed.

Victimized to even a recessive disorder
One diagnosis and your life is shorter.
Your life controlled by medication,
What life would you have
If it’s only spent in hospitalization?

So what if you were to believe
That life is controlled by genes,
No one is ever born free
Cause DNA is just encoded destiny.
