The name of this group is Introspect, of The Ohio State University, Newark Campus.
Article II: Objective and Purpose:
A. To promote, enhance and further develop educational and social achievements and interests in psychology
B. Introspect will operate in compliance with all policies and procedures of Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and The Ohio State University-Newark (OSU-N).
C. To influence the conditions under which prospective members are being prepared for their professional role in society.
D. To advance the interest and welfare of the prospective members.
E. 10% of all money received in each fundraiser will be donated by Introspect to the Ruth Scott-Sara Staats Memorial Scholarship Fund.
A. All persons holding membership in Introspect and all persons thereafter who meet the qualifications established by the By-Laws shall be members of the organization.
B. Membership to Introspect is open to all registered students, with an interest in psychology, of OSU-N and the students of COTC without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual preference, or disability. It is also open to faculty and staff of Newark Campus.
C. Membership requires only that a person attend an Introspect event or function. The membership status remains until the student permanently leaves the OSU-N campus.
D. Meeting times will occur weekly during the Autumn, Winter and Spring quarters, with exact times to be determined no later than the first week of each quarter.
A. To amend this document, there must be a 2/3 vote of members present
B. All amendments are to be kept on a separate document entitled Amendments to the Introspect Constitution and updated as needed.
C. A proposed amendment to this constitution shall be presented to the membership at least 30 days prior to its proposed adoption.
Article V: Registered Offices:
A. Description of Offices
1. President, elected annually, has the following duties: Chair meetings, represent Introspect at the club events, co-sign request for fundraising/expenditures, appoint a cabinet if necessary, approve meeting minutes prior to publication, enact policy as the need for good of Introspect.
2. Vice-President, elected annually, has the following duties: Perform the duties of the President in his or her absence, coordinate program activities, oversee committees and their chairs, report club and committee status to the president.
3. Secretary, elected annually, has the following duties: take minutes of the meetings; post notices of the meetings and activities; maintain attendance records and membership lists; perform routine correspondence.
4. Treasurer, elected annually, has the following duties: collect any money from fundraisers; account for all expenditures in accordance with campus procedures; report to the membership at meetings.
5. Executive Committee Members (2), elected annually, have the following duties: assist other officers when and where necessary, help in the planning, preparation, and execution of any activities.
B. Elections of the officers will take place at the end of the Spring Quarter. Announcements of the elections will take place during the Spring Psychology Reception.
C. Newly elected officers will assume their new offices immediately following the end of the Spring Psychology Reception.
D. Introspect officers cannot run for an office they are currently holding.
E. Removal of officers: officers may leave or be removed from office upon their resignation or upon a Ê vote of members present at a meeting.
F. Advisor for Introspect must be a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the OSU-N psychology department.
