The Associate dean may rehire retired faculty on a year-to-year basis to teach or provide service to the campus. The Associate dean is under no obligation to hire any retired faculty member. Retired faculty who teach must follow the policy on the evaluation of teaching that applies to special contract faculty. Salary per course shall be one ninth of 80% of final annual salary up to $6,000. Retired faculty shall not be hired to such an extent or so long a period as to prevent the filling of a regular, tenure-track faculty position.
