Placementtests determine your first course in math, English and foreign language. Not
all students are required to take every test. Watch your mailbox for your specific
testing requirements, times and locations.

About the Test
Take the test online
Note: You must have taken the online test at least three days prior to your assigned
testing date OR
Take the test on campus (Where & When) - Founders Hall, Auditorium 2:30 p.m.
Be sure to bring a calculator.
English Placement Test
About the Test - Students are not required to take the English placement test
if their ACT or SAT scores have already placed them into First Year Composition
or Honors First Year Composition.
Taking the Test - Please bring a pen. You will be given a topic and allowed
one hour to write an essay.
Where & When - Founders Hall, Auditorium 1 p.m.
Foreign Language Proficiency Tests
About the Test - Foreign Language Proficiency Testing is strongly recommended
for any student with two or more consecutive years of the same language in
high school, regardless of major.
Taking the Test - You may wish to coordinate your testing with the math and
English testing dates. French, German, Spanish and Latin testing is available in
Newark. If you need Latin or another language test (other than French, German
or Spanish), please make prior arrangements with the Advising Office by calling
