Scholarships Available for Ohio State Newark Summer Enrichment Camp
NEWARK, OH, April 4, 2018 — Becoming a Buckeye for a week this summer just became easier for rising sixth through eighth grade students. Thanks to the generous support of the Licking County Foundation, need-based scholarships are now available to help area students attend The Ohio State University at Newark Summer Enrichment Camp 2018. The camp, which will be held June 11-15 at Ohio State Newark, will give students the opportunity to explore a range of academic disciplines and experience the college environment in sessions led by Ohio State Newark faculty.
“Through the Licking County Foundation’s generosity, more area students will explore new ideas, make connections between classroom concepts and our world, and dream about future possibilities,” said Ohio State Newark Director of Enrollment Diane Kanney.
Students who enroll at Ohio State Newark’s Summer Enrichment Camp will explore academic disciplines ranging from English to political science, art, sociology, physics and biology. Faculty-led one-hour sessions include, “Why Do We Need a Government?”; “Guess Who Lives Next Door? The Wildlife of Coshocton County”; “America: A Melting Pot, Salad Bowl or Something Else?”; “Write Like Sherlock” and “The Scientific Study of Religion.” Sessions will allow students to develop their own opinions, ideas and critical thinking skills while interacting with college faculty. During the week, students will also dine in the university dining hall and learn about college life from current Ohio State students.
Cost for The Ohio State Newark Summer Enrichment Camp is $250 per student. To apply for a need-based scholarship or to obtain more information, contact Kanney at 740.366.9333 or firstname.lastname@example.org To register and learn more, visit go.osu.edu/newarksummercamp.
