
Shawna Green

Shawna Green is originally from a small town (population 3000) in southeast West Virginia. She has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. Ms. Green is a former employee of Electronic Data Systems where she worked as an Associate Systems Engineer, responsible for designing, testing, and implementing inventory control and merchandise planning software. She is also a former Senior Technical Associate for Lucent Technologies where she served as a Systems Verification Engineer for the database management subsystem. Ms. Green has an M.A. from The Ohio State University. Her Master’s thesis is a feminist examination of a late Sixteenth Century English Renaissance play. Her thesis is published in The Ohio State University’s library and is titled, “Outwitting and Out Working: Female Representation in Thomas Dekker’s The Shoemaker’s Holiday.” While pursuing her graduate degree, Ms. Green worked as a writing consultant for The Ohio State University Center for the Study and Teaching of Writing. She provided writing consultation for adult patrons to The Godman Guild in Columbus, Ohio. This past year, Ms. Green traveled to the Conference on College, Composition, and Communication to speak on writing instruction for adult literacy patrons. Ms. Green lives in Lancaster, Ohio with her husband of over twenty years and their two daughters. She plans to pursue her interest in adult writing instruction and hopes to play a vital role in ESL instruction on the Newark Campus of Ohio State.
