The OSU-Newark Mathematics Learning Center started running in
1986 under the helm of Dr. Rose K. Hart. Two grants from the Ohio
Board of Reagents provided the juice – the Productivity Grant and
the Excellence Grant. Our mission, guided by those two grants, is
still pretty much the same – to improve retention and remediation of
our math students and to enrich all of the mathematics courses we
offer on our campus.
The coordinator of the Math Center is Dr. Rose K. Hart. She teaches mathematics three quarters of each school year and attends to student needs that arise in the Math Center. She supervises student workers in the Math Center and works closely with all mathematics faculty on the OSU-Newark campus, supporting their teaching with materials and equipment.
