Inaugural Play Contest Winners Announced!
276 entries received in first-ever Ohio State Newark contest
September 2, 2011- Newark, OH- The theatre department at The Ohio State University of Newark has released the winners and honorable mentions of the Inaugural Play Contest. In addition to first, second, and third place winners, there are 35 honorable mentions. There were 276 entries in all.
The winner of first place is Paul Dexter of New York, NY, for Feeding Frenzy. Second pla
ce went to Gil Roscoe of Valley Village, CA, for Sunset Semester; and third place went to Dan Borengasser, Springdale, AR, for Goat Song Revelry.

Of the 276 entries, four were from Canada and 35 American states were represented. The top represented states were New York, with 47 entries; California with 23; and Massachusetts with 14.
Theatre director Dave Williams read the plays, a daunting process that took over three months to complete.
“I was pleased to create this opportunity for playwrights,” said Williams. “It’s wonderful to see the wide range of stories that people have to tell – my work truly was cut out for me.”
