2017 Spring Break trip to Berlin, Germany
During spring break, 18 students traveled to Berlin, Germany as part of a one-credit hour education abroad course led by Dr. Stephanie Brown and Professor Stephen Evans. Most students stayed in Berlin for the duration of the program, but five students spent two days in Chemnitz working at Chemnitzer Schulmodell, a school for students aged 5-16. One student went to Zwickau for two days. Students walked the city and saw the Brandenburg Gate, Hitler’s Bunker, Bebelplatz. They toured the Reichstag, Berlin Underground, Stasi prison and museum, and the Berlin Wall. Some visited the Olympic Stadium, Sachsenhausen concentration camp, and hiked up Teufelsberg.
