  • Purpose

    To create a high performance culture, Ohio State Newark will ensure that each member of our community is offered:

  • Clear performance objectives;
  • Ongoing coaching and feedback;
  • Professional development;
  • Recognition for outstanding work that contributes to overall success.

  • Annual Timeline

    The performance year is May 1-April 30.

    May 1Performance year begins.
    September 30First mid-year check-in with staff member completed.
    Two mid-year check-in meetins are required for CWA members.
    January 31Second mid-year check-in with staff member completed.
    Two mid-year check-in meetins are required for CWA members.
    March 15Staff self-evaluations completed.
    Self-evaluations are option and at the supervisor's discretion.
    April 301. Peformance year ends;
    2. Annual performance appraisals are due in HR from cabinet members/senior level administrators;
    3. Planning and objectives-setting are completed for the next performance year, which begins May 1.

    Performance Planning and Appraisal Form

    The performance planning and appraisal form is available here. This single form is used throughout the entire performance cycle: planning, midyear check-ins annual appraisal. Guidelines for its use are contained within the form itself.

    Note: If you have Office 2010 or later, you may be presented with a screen asking if you want to open or save the file. Select “save.” Once saved, you will be able to open and edit the document.
