Marketing and Public Relations
The mission of the Marketing and Public Relations Office is to market the educational programs and services of both The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College to our constituencies, to enhance the image and awareness of these institutions via public relations efforts; and to support the communication and promotional efforts of the campus community.
Suzanne Bressoud | Director of Marketing and Public Relations
Suzanne Bressoud joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in August 2017. She is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications management at both Central Ohio Technical College and The Ohio State University at Newark. She has more than 15 years of experience in public relations and marketing for educational institutions. She was previously director of marketing at The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology and Columbus School for Girls and served as the assistant director of marketing and public relations at Ohio State Newark/COTC. Suzanne earned a B.A. in English and Theatre from Muskingum University and an M.A. in Communications from the S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
René N. White | Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations
René White joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in May 2013 as a communicatons coordinator and became the assistant director in 2016. She coordinates the activities for COTC commencements and the annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks in addition to assisting the promotion of campus news and events. She has over five years experience in higher education, previously serving as a public relations coordinator in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. René earned a B.A. in Communications from The Ohio State University and a M.S. in Marketing in Communications from Franklin University.
Leslie Lenzo | Senior Graphic Designer
Leslie Lenzo McLaughlin joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in July 2000 and serves as graphic designer for both institutions. Leslie previously worked as art director and graphic designer for advertising agencies in Columbus, Cleveland and Charleston, South Carolina. She brings 10 years of agency experience, concepting, designing and critiquing graphic design. Leslie earned a B.F.A. from The University of Akron with a double major in Graphic Design and Photography.
Suzanne S. Clark | Communications Coordinator
Suzanne Clark joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in January 2011, and was promoted to Communications Coordinator in January 2014. She is responsible for the content management of both institutions’ websites as well as the production of Profiles newsletters (print and eversions). Suzanne also assists in the promotion of campus news and events and brings over 30 years’ experience in the fields of marketing and public relations, graphic design, production preflight and event promotion. She was previously employed as an art director, graphic designer, production manager and marketing strategist for corporations in Columbia, Missouri, Coshocton and Granville, Ohio. Suzanne earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Stephens College.
Jessica Huffman | Communications Coordinator
Jessica Huffman joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in May 2016. Jessica assists with communications, public relations, and marketing efforts for COTC and Ohio State Newark. She manages the social media presence for both Ohio State Newark and COTC. She previously worked for the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Michigan as director of community relations. She also brings three years of higher education public relations experience from working at Tiffin University as a media relations specialist. Jessica earned a B.A. in Communications from Tiffin University and a M.H. in Communications from Tiffin University.
Stacey Cartnal | Marketing Assistant
Stacey Cartnal joined the Marketing and Public Relations team in August 2017. As marketing assistant, Stacey contributes to the marketing strategies for both institutions as well as assists with budgeting and media buying. She is a Central Ohio Technical College alumna and has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Franklin University.
