Buckeye Leadership Camp for 2023 will not be held. See you in 2024.

Who: Rising 9th-12th grade students

What: The BUCKEYE LEADERSHIP CAMP gives students opportunities to develop leadership skills through informative sessions, small-group activities and engagement with campus and community leaders. Students will gain exposure to subject matter that will help them identify their strengths, develop a plan to make a positive impact on their schools, teams, communities or elsewhere. Students will learn how they can be a leader as they prepare for their college experience and beyond. The camp is led by Ohio State Newark faculty, staff and students.

Where: The Ohio State University at Newark, 1179 University Drive, Newark, OH 43055.

When: Monday-Thursday, June 2024 (dates to be announced), 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.; final day (Thursday) 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cost: $60 per student, due at time of registration (some need-based scholarships may be available).

Registration deadline: Date to come.

two male students shaking hands during a session exerciseWhy enroll? The Buckeye Leadership Camp is tailored for students who want to be an agent of change! The camp was developed to provide leadership activities, knowledge and understanding for the leaders of tomorrow. Including this camp on a future college application is sure to impress the admissions committee!

What time does camp start? The camp will begin daily at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Please arrive five minutes before the start time. Thursday will be a short day with camp ending with a closing ceremony at 1 p.m. Parents and/or guardians are invited to join us for this ceremony where each student will be recognized with completion.

What should I wear? Students should dress comfortably and always wear tennis shoes for comfort in recreation activities. Shorts and t-shirts are welcome.

Is lunch provided? Lunch will be provided by Ohio State Newark’s dining services. Please alert the camp director of food allergies at time of registration.
