The Ohio State University at Newark

Pelotonia. It's not a ride, it's a journey.

A Ride. A Weekend. To Make a Difference. To Make an Impact.

Pelotonia is a three-day experience founded in Columbus, Ohio in 2008, that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism. Through its first eleven rides, Pelotonia raised more than $207 million for cancer research. Thanks to its generous funding partners, American Electric Power Foundation, Huntington Bank, L Brands Foundation, and Peggy and Richard Santulli, Pelotonia is able to direct 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

But we know, Pelotonia was never just about the ride. It’s always been about setting and achieving an ambitious goal and raising critical funds to fight a disease that impacts us all. And, that’s exactly what we’ll do again this year. Independently, but together in spirit and purpose. This year, you will define Pelotonia. And your legend.

2020 Pelotonia is August 7-9

Faced with the Covid-19 crisis, we are redefining Pelotonia for 2020. In place of our traditional three-day event, participants will instead set and achieve their own individual goals, when, where and however they choose. It’s the perfect way to join our cause, at a time when it’s more important than ever. Read more.

We ride because teamwork and effort is what being a Buckeye is all about. Ask anyone who had been a part of Pelotonia and Team Buckeye. Pelotonia is a profoundly inspiring experience. Experience for yourself the pride and connection that comes from being apart of Team Buckeye as a rider, virtual rider or volunteer.

What is Pelotonia? What is Team Buckeye?

Pelotonia is a grassroots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer.

In its seventh year, Pelotonia has raised more than $82 million to date for innovative and life saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and Pelotonia proudly directs 100% of every dollar raised to research. Driven by the passion of its riders and volunteers, their families and friends, Pelotonia's annual cycling experience will be a place of hope, energy and determination. It is a community of people coming together to chase down cancer and defeat it.

For the fifth consecutive year, Ohio State will have an official super Peloton, Team Buckeye, with Ohio State's own Archie Griffin leading the charge! Team Buckeye will be the umbrella Peloton for all Pelotons and riders associated with Ohio State — faculty, staff, students, alumni and Buckeye fans! Our Peloton, Rolling for a Cure, is a part of Team Buckeye, and will include Ohio State faculty, staff, students, and friends and family members.
