The Ohio State University at Newark

Education

The education programs at The Ohio State University at Newark prepare future teachers and support the professional development of current teachers. Our faculty are either a part of the Department of Teaching and Learning at Ohio State or the Department of Educational Studies at Ohio State. We deliver full programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, meeting pre-licensure, licensure, and post licensure/certification needs.

Our NCATE-accredited licensure programs for Early Childhood and Middle Childhood are highly ranked nationally. Additionally, current K-12 educators may choose to pursue graduate courses, a Reading Endorsement or the P6 Mathematics Specialist Endorsement and/or the Ohio State Newark Master of Arts in Integrated Teaching and Learning (M.A) - individually designed for the grade level and content area of interest in K-12 contexts. Taking graduate level courses without pursuing a masters or endorsement is also a possibility; and if interested, selected courses are available to be taught on site in your district.
