Extended Education

Take Ohio State undergraduate courses without pursuing a degree.

Admission criteria

Generally, domestic students who are eligible for admission to Extended Education must demonstrate the following academic achievements:

  • Graduation from high school or a GED
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all previous university-level coursework 
    Note: If you don’t have at least a 2.0 GPA, please provide a written explanation and transcripts from all institutions attended, along with your Extended Education application
  • Be in good standing with other colleges or universities attended

In addition, applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Be at least 24 years of age, have a bachelor’s degree or have been out of high school for at least four years
  • Be in a degree-granting program at another university and wish to transfer Ohio State credit back to that institution
