Admission criteria
Generally, domestic students who are eligible for admission to Extended Education must demonstrate the following academic achievements:
- Graduation from high school or a GED
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all previous university-level coursework
Note: If you don’t have at least a 2.0 GPA, please provide a written explanation and transcripts from all institutions attended, along with your Extended Education application - Be in good standing with other colleges or universities attended
In addition, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Be at least 24 years of age, have a bachelor’s degree or have been out of high school for at least four years
- Be in a degree-granting program at another university and wish to transfer Ohio State credit back to that institution

Please submit the following when applying to The Ohio State University at Newark as a Extended Education student:
- Completed online application
- $60 application fee
- Any supporting documentation based on the above criteria
