The Center for Student Success coordinates and provides campus-wide programs and initiatives to encourage every student to experience success.

Academic Support Services

Successful students take advantage of resources that help them achieve better learning. Our academic support programs provide free in-person and virtual tutoring sessions in multiple subject areas. 

  • Math Learning Center
    Drop-in tutoring specifically for math and statistics classes.
  • The Writer's Studio
    Peer writing consultants help you recognize the strengths and weaknesses in your writing.
  • Tutoring Center
    Free tutoring in a variety of subjects from anatomy, history, physics, Spanish and more.
  • Testing Center
    The Testing Center provides accessible, secure and confidential testing services in an optimal testing environment.

Office of Retention and Student Success Initiatives

The Office of Retention and Student Success Initiatives is committed to ensuring all students have the necessary supports, both inside and outside of the classroom, to fully realize their academic and personal potential at Ohio State Newark. Some of our services include:

  • Academic success coaches to assist with unexpected academic, health, financial, and/or social challenges.
  • Individualized academic success interventions.
  • Support programs for students with academic difficulties and/or on academic probation.
  • Learning communities that promote a sense of belonging and provide stronger connections with faculty, classmates and peer coaches.
