Resources for admitted students

Congratulations, you're a Buckeye! We are so excited to welcome you to The Ohio State University. Now that we’ve made your admission official, you have important next steps to take.

Accept our offer of admission

Confirm your enrollment by paying your acceptance fee as soon as you decide. If you complete this step by May 1, you are eligible for early orientation, which means you have access to the most classes in your first semester, and Ohio State football tickets.

Note: As a condition of enrollment, all admitted applicants are required to answer a question regarding disciplinary and felony history prior to paying the acceptance fee.

BuckeyePass

Ohio State uses two-factor authentication for most online services. If you haven't already done so, you will be prompted to enroll in BuckeyePass when you accept admission.

Check your BuckeyeMail email account

Check your BuckeyeMail even if you haven't decided on Ohio State.

We're sending important, time-sensitive information — like your on-campus housing application and financial aid offer — to your BuckeyeMail account. Check BuckeyeMail several times a week at buckeyemail.osu.edu. Log in with your Ohio State username (lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu) and password.

Keep checking your personal email, too: We may still send important information there.

Apply for housing

Living on campus is optional. If you are interested, you must enter the housing lottery by April 15. Look for an email invitation after your acceptance fee is paid.

Register for orientation

Orientation is required for all incoming students. You are introduced to people and resources that play a critical role in first-year success.

Check your to-do list in My Buckeye Link

Review your “To Do List” on My Buckeye Link for specific items you need to complete throughout the admissions process. Check this frequently as items on your “To Do List” will be added each week.

Transfer students: Review transfer credit report

When you meet with your academic advisor at transfer student orientation, they will go over your Transfer Credit Report with you. Before orientation, however, you should access your Transfer Credit Report and review it.

  1. Log in to Buckeye Link.
  2. Click Academics and Records.
  3. Look for two icons:  Run Your Transfer Credit Report generates your report (you’ll need to log in with your Ohio State username and password). Understanding Your Transfer Credit Report provides instructions on reading the report and getting courses evaluated.

If you receive general credit (G000.xx), it must be further evaluated by the appropriate academic department to determine if a direct course equivalency is available.

View and accept your financial aid award

Financial aid awards for autumn semester roll out starting in mid-April and continue as admissions decisions are made. Check your BuckeyeMail account for your aid notification email and follow the instructions to view your package.
