The Ohio State University at Newark was founded in 1957. The first classes were held in Newark High School until the community raised $1 million to purchase land and construct the first building, Founders Hall, which opened in 1971.
The Ohio State University at Newark provides access to the university by extending Ohio State courses, programs, research and service to many Ohio communities.
Our vision is to become a national model for regional campuses of public universities.
