A scholarship is financial aid that does not have to be paid back. Scholarships have differing eligibility criteria and deadlines.
A grant is financial aid that does not have to be paid back. Grants can come from federal, state or university funds to undergraduate students who demonstrate a high financial need.
Loans are financial aid that can be accepted and must be paid back within a specified period of time after a student graduates, leaves college or falls below half-time enrollment.
Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a need-based program that allows students to earn money while in school. Students interested in FWS should indicate interest on the FAFSA.
At Ohio State Newark, you are eligible for the many financial aid programs available to all Ohio State students — and a few that are exclusive to Newark campus students.
