The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology
The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology is an interactive museum featuring hands-on science labs, an art gallery, local historic artifacts and unique glassblowing demonstrations. In partnership with Ohio State Newark, the SciDome planetarium provides an immersive educational experience.
Newark Earthworks
The Newark Earthworks is one of many Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks built by American Indians 2,000 years ago and the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Ohio. The earthwork sites were sacred spaces not just for local American Indians but groups of American Indians from all over North America. These earthworks represent creative human achievement and stand as lasting evidence of a culture that shaped the landscape.
The Dawes Arboretum
The Dawes Arboretum is a nearly 2,000-acre arboretum featuring forest and ornamental trees, gardens, hiking trails, and natural spaces. Some of the arboretums key attractions include the Japanese Garden, Cypress Swamp, Dawes Lake, Outlook Tower and Daweswood House Museum.
