Academy Program

The Ohio State Academy is College Credit Plus (CCP) at Ohio State. CCP is a statewide program that allows qualified students the opportunity to enroll in college classes before high school graduation. Students earn both high school and college credit, at no cost to students and families.

Admission criteria

College Credit Plus/Academy students must meet the College Readiness Standards set by the state of Ohio.

Admission criteria for students without a standardized test:

  • unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale) and
  • two years of high school English and Math

Students who do not meet this standard can be admitted by submitting standardized test scores that meet the State of Ohio College Readiness Standard:

  • ACT Scores: English- 18, Math - 22, Reading 22
  • SAT Scores: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing - 480, Math - 530
  • ACCUPLACER Scores: Writing -263, Reading - 250, Math - 263

How to apply

To be considered for admission to the Academy program, students must submit the online application and accompanying materials by the deadlines below.  All items will be needed to be submitted by the deadline in order for the application to be considered:

  • online application
  • school information form 
  • official transcripts of coursework
  • college readiness assessments 
  • mature content permission slip

Application deadlines

All application deadlines are completion deadlines - all materials must be received in the Undergraduate Admissions office by the listed date to be considered.

Summer term: Feb. 1
Autumn semester: May 1
Spring semester: Oct. 15*

*Non-public and home school students

Non-public and home school students must apply for state funding through the Ohio Department of Education. To meet the state deadlines, all non-public and home school students who wish to receive CCP funding for spring or fall must apply to Ohio State by March 1.

CCP will cover the cost of tuition, books and fees. Students enrolled in public schools will receive funding through their schools. Students enrolled in non-public schools and those who are home-schooled are eligible to apply for funding through the state.
