University financial aid programs

Students with demonstrated financial need can be eligible for a wide range of additional aid options, including institutional grants and programs.

Ohio State institutional grants

President's Affordability Grant​

Awards up to $1,500 to Ohio State Newark students with financial need and good academic standing.

Eligibility:

  • ​Awarded to  Ohio resident, degree seeking, undergraduate students
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Students must file a FAFSA by the priority date
  • Must maintain full-time enrollment
  • Must be SAP eligible

Terms:

  • You can receive a maximum of eight semesters of university funding
  • You are no longer eligible for the President's Affordability Grant once you have earned your first bachelor's degree
  • If your FAFSA information changes as a result of verification, your award may change
  • The amount is evaluated and determined every academic year

Buckeye Opportunity Program

The Buckeye Opportunity Program covers tuition and mandatory fees for Ohio residents on all campuses who are Pell-eligible and show significant need. Many eligible students have their tuition and mandatory fees covered through a combination of scholarships and aid from federal, state, institutional and donor programs. For students whose aid falls short, Ohio State's Buckeye Affordability Grant bridges any gaps and fulfills the spirit of the Buckeye Opportunity Program. The Pell Grant and many of our other awards are calculated based on information submitted through the FAFSA.

  • Awarded to Ohio resident, degree seeking, undergraduate students
  • Must be SAP eligible
  • Students must file a FAFSA by the priority date
  • Students must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and have a remaining tuition balance after other eligible aid is applied
  • Must maintain full-time enrollment at the regional campus

Terms:

  • You can receive a maximum of eight semesters of university funding
  • If your FAFSA information changes as a result of verification, your award may change
  • The amount is evaluated and determined every academic year
  • Autumn and spring terms only
  • You are no longer eligible for the Buckeye Affordability Grant once you have earned your first bachelor's degree

To be considered for the President’s Affordability Grant and the Buckeye Affordability Grant, you must submit the FAFSA by the priority date (Feb. 15) and, if selected for verification, verification materials by the verification due date as funds may be exhausted.

ACCESS Collaborative Program and CCAMPIS Childcare Grant

The ACCESS Collaborative Program is an academic and social support program that provides resources for parenting students. One of those resources is the CCAMPIS Grant (Child Care Access Means Parents in School), which provides community childcare services for children six weeks to 12 years old as well as priority class scheduling.
