Camp Architecture Offered at Ohio State Newark
April 21, 2015- Newark, OH — The Ohio State University at Newark is pleased to sponsor Camp Architecture: High School Design Studio at the Newark campus. High School Design Studio is a two-week camp for students entering grades 9-12 that will run from June 2-12, 2015, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekdays.
The camp provides an introduction to architecture, landscape architecture,and city and regional planning.The first week provides an introduction to the disciplines with small projects. The second week will focus on an introduction to studio culture with the emphasis on a single project. The students will work hands on with their counselors to develop a project through drawings and modelmaking.
Camp director, Stephanie Sang Delgado, is a third year Master of Architecture student at The Knowlton School of Architecture, The Ohio State University, where she is also a graduate teaching assistant for History of Architecture. She has volunteered for Camp Architecture in Columbus for three years and is also the director for the Columbus camp. Other counselors will be returning graduate students of the Knowlton School of Architecture.
High School Design Studio/Camp Architecture will be held in LeFevre Hall, 1199 University Drive, Newark, Ohio. The cost is $50.00 and registration can be completed online at regonline.com/camparch.
