Marc Lyons

Initial Appointment – 3 years (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2027)

Marc is retired from State Farm Insurance where he had a 28 year career as an underwriter, manager and internal consultant in the financial services areas of the company. Marc has also worked in the banking and sales sectors for a combined 42 years of business experience.  Marc is the owner of RootedU, LLC, a business consulting firm, and also serves as the chief financial officer for his daughter’s three family-owned businesses. Marc is a 1987 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in marketing. Most of Marc’s college work was done at the Ohio State Newark campus.

Marc and his wife Kelly (Ohio State class of 1991) are committed to supporting the Newark campus and the students who attend there through their volunteerism and financial support. They have established scholarships to support business students at Ohio State Newark and law enforcement students at COTC.  In addition to his involvement with Ohio State Newark, Marc is passionate about serving at his church in Mount Vernon.
