Housing and Roommates
Your home away from home.
By living on campus, you’re just steps away from friends, professors, classrooms, labs and dining. You’ll also have access to 24-hour, 7-day security. Halls have wifi throughout. Common spaces allow for studying and meeting together, and cable television service is available in the common areas as well.
Assignments to Newark housing are based on the results of a lottery system. Students should keep in mind that housing information is sent to their Ohio State e-mail account according to the student's date of admission to the university/college. Students will be required to return a contract, space reservation fee, and a nonrefundable housing filing fee by mid-April to be considered eligible for the on campus housing lottery.
Off-Campus Housing Information
Finding a place to live.
Information on available apartments and realtors is provided for the benefit of Ohio State Newark and COTC students and potential students. These listings are not approved or endorsed by the University, so please be certain to take the same precautions you would with any rental property. If you are interested in a particular listing, contact the landlord directly to get further information regarding the unit, and potentially set up an appointment to view the place.
Because of the variation in the quality of housing in the Newark area, it is highly recommended that you do not commit yourself to a place without seeing it first.
