
John Hunter
Associate Professor
Since 2005, John Hunter has been a faculty member at Ohio State Newark where he teaches courses in human anatomy, biology and evolution. Before that, he taught at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of New York Institute of Technology (1996-2004), including three years as anatomy course director, and at SUNY Stony Brook while he was a graduate student. As a vertebrate paleontologist and morphologist, he has published on a wide range of topics including descriptions of new mammals of Cretaceous and Paleocene age, studies of mammalian tooth diversity, and analyses of mammalian biogeography. His students have pursued projects in systematics, functional morphology and analytical paleontology, depending on their interests.
