Fundraiser Celebrates Tenure of Dean MacDonald

Join The Ohio State University at Newark on Saturday, June 15 from 7–11 p.m. at Union Square Music Hall in Newark for Rocking' With the Dean, a night of celebration and fundraising in honor of William L. MacDonald, PhD, dean and director of Ohio State Newark.

This event serves as a celebration of MacDonald’s legacy and impact as dean and director, a position he will be stepping down from after an impressive 20-year tenure. It also serves as a fundraising opportunity for both the William L. MacDonald Scholarship for the Newark Campus and Pelotonia.

Attendees may choose from one of three ticket tiers. General admission tickets cost $35 and cover entry to the event. Individual VIP tickets cost $100, and an eight-person VIP table costs $600. All VIP tickets come with VIP parking, golf cart shuttle service from the parking lot to the venue, reserved priority seating, two drink tickets per person, concierge bar service, tableside charcuterie and a goodie bag. All guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, silent auctions, raffles and musical entertainment from The Sticks and Stones and the MacDonald Family Band.

During his 20-year tenure as dean and director, MacDonald has engaged with the community to raise more than $14 million for Ohio State Newark student scholarships, represented Ohio State Newark in leading new construction and renovation projects totaling more than $100 million, and promoted a holistic approach to student success that focuses on students’ academic and personal needs. He has also been an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion and a true champion for social justice.

Come share your appreciation with MacDonald for his dedication to Ohio State Newark, enjoy an evening of celebration and festivities, and help MacDonald’s legacy go past his time as dean and director by contributing to the William L. MacDonald Scholarship for the Newark Campus and Pelotonia.
