Pianist Steven Michael Glaser performs “Encores…nothing but encores” on Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. in the John Gilbert Reese Center Alford Performing Arts Hall at The Ohio State University at Newark. This recital is free and open to the public.

“Encores” features selected works by composers Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy and Paul Ben-Haim.

Glaser is a professor of piano in the School of Music at Ohio State, where he has taught since 1994, and is also a faculty member of the Melton Center for Jewish Studies. A well-known chamber musician, he has collaborated with many leading artists and ensembles. Glaser has concertized widely in the United States, including acclaimed debut recitals in Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and on the prestigious Allied Arts Series in Merkin Concert Hall in New York City, and abroad in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Israel, New Zealand and Asia.
