Ozlem Dogan Ekici

Özlem Doğan Ekici was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey in 1998 and moved to the United States the same year. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003 under the supervision of Prof. James C. Powers. After postdoctoral work with Prof. Ross E. Dalbey and Prof. Matthew S. Platz at OSU, she joined the faculty at OSU Newark in Autumn 2014. Currently, she is teaching General Chemistry lecture and labs. Her current research focus is the development of novel protease inhibitors, specifically proteasome inhibitors for the potential treatment of multiple myeloma.
