Chelsea Shipley

Student Representative

Chelsea Shipley is a dedicated student leader at The Ohio State University at Newark, where she is pursuing a BS in Social Work with an anticipated graduation in 2026. Maintaining a 3.6 GPA and consistently earning Dean’s List honors, Chelsea pairs academic excellence with deep campus and community involvement. She works in the Office of Student Life supporting students through the food pantry, counseling, and disability services, and she serves as president of Active Minds, leading initiatives to reduce the stigma of mental illness and promote wellness. Her leadership includes serving as a peer mentor, student ambassador, Buckeye guide and member of the Student Matters Committee, as well as representing Ohio State Newark on the Homecoming court for two years. Recognized with the William A. Kilpatrick Leadership Award, Chelsea has also volunteered with programs such as Diversity Through Artistry and organized impactful service projects, including letter-writing campaigns for patients at Nationwide Behavioral Health Pavilion. Through her academic success, leadership roles and commitment to service, Chelsea exemplifies the Buckeye spirit of scholarship, compassion and community impact.
