Tara Houdeshell joined The Ohio State University at Newark Board in 2019. Tara is the Executive Director of A Call to College, a nonprofit college access organization serving 3,500 Newark City Schools students and families annually. Tara joined the organization in 2014 and was promoted to Executive Director in 2018. In addition to leading a staff and volunteer advisor corps of more than twenty-five, managing the organization’s budget and participating in direct programming at the elementary, middle and high school levels, Tara also serves on The Ohio State University Newark’s Enrollment Advisory Board and is the President of the Lakewood Local School District Board of Education. Previously she held leadership positions in college access, admissions and advising at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and Muskingum University.
Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's degree in Information Strategy, Systems and Technology from Muskingum University.
