Terri Hessler
Terri Hessler has a PhD in applied behavior analysis from the special education program at The Ohio State University. The Ohio State special education program has been operating from a paradigm of reading based on the science of reading since before the science of reading became a "thing." She has been teaching effective instruction, behavior and classroom management strategies for 20+ years. As a part of her service commitments, she provides free dyslexia screenings, and she trains teacher candidates to provide free fundamental literacy skills tutoring to students in very early grades. Her research centers on these activities. Before her career in higher education, Hessler was a high school special education and English teacher.
Hessler started and operates the Ohio State Newark Dyslexia Intervention & Screening Clinic.
