The Greenstein Award is given annually to a staff member, administrator or faculty member of COTC and/or Ohio State Newark whose efforts, attitude, deeds and behaviors made a major contribution toward the perpetuation of a genuine spirit of mutual respect and cooperation between COTC and Ohio State Newark.
White, of Thornville, has been a cost-shared employee for 21 years, working for COTC’s accounting and payroll office and Ohio State Newark’s business and finance office. As an accounting manager, White has aided in producing financial statements, leading COTC’s external audits and creating general ledger accounts.
“Amy has consistently demonstrated her dedication to the cost-shared nature of our two institutions,” said Lisa Orr, assistant director of business and finance at COTC and Ohio State Newark. “Her commitment to maintaining the integrity and spirit of the cost-shared arrangement is shown in her daily work with each institution’s financial systems, payrolls, policies and practices. Amy is a sought-after colleague across campus for conversations and decisions, whether the topic is related to facilities, student accounts or general campus operations. “
David Brillhart, EdD, COTC’s vice president for business and finance and Ohio State Newark's director of business and finance, described White as “one of those employees who naturally makes herself indispensable. From the first day she started on campus, she became a natural leader in the accounting department and a ‘go-to’ person for financial information.”
White has been promoted several times within the department, and in her role as accounting manager, Brillhart said she “maintains a high degree of accuracy and is very thorough with her work. This has resulted in numerous clean audits for COTC and Ohio State Newark.” He described White as responsible, helpful, caring and having a sense of humor that makes her a pleasure to work with.
“Amy maintains a strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment, empowering her team members to reach their goals and potential,” Orr further praised. “Amy exhibits exceptional professionalism and integrity in all interactions and consistently upholds the values of these two organizations, demonstrating honesty, respect and accessibility with every endeavor.”
