Marvel mythos decoded at upcoming faculty talk

The Marvel cinematic universe is the most commercially successful film franchise of all time, but the secrets behind its success trace back to the humble beginnings of its comic book magazine predecessors.

The Ohio State University at Newark Dean and Director Matthew J. Smith, PhD, who is a co-curator of the traveling museum exhibit Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes, decodes the Marvel mythos from print to screen and beyond in an upcoming Faculty Talks Outside the Box lecture on Monday, Nov. 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the John L. and Christine Warner Library and Student Center 175.

During Faculty Talks Outside the Box, Ohio State Newark professors discuss recent research in their fields as it relates to our community and answer your questions. All talks are free and open to the public. The Warner Center is located at 1219 University Drive, Newark.

For more information or if you require an accommodation to participate fully, please contact Lucille Toth, PhD, associate professor of French at Ohio State Newark, at toth.297@osu.edu.
