The play will be Norlin’s 30th and final show as a producer and director in the Black Box Theater. After almost 30 years at Ohio State Newark — the last 13 of which have also seen her serve as the theater’s art director — Norlin is retiring.
“I’ve worked with hundreds of students and community theater artists over these years,” she wrote in her final director’s note. “Every moment has been a joy and a privilege.”
This production runs from April 10-19. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. while Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. All tickets are sold at the door and must be purchased with cash.
“You Can’t Take It With You” is an eccentric, chaotic Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy. It chronicles an unconventional family’s lighthearted life — full of taxidermy, spontaneous ballet and amateur fireworks — and its eventual collision with the rigid world of a Wall Street banker. Their exploits prove that love and living fully trump money and conformity.
