Ohio State Newark professors are continually making contributions to science, technology, education and the arts while teaching at Ohio State Newark. And they are all full members of their respective departments in Columbus.
Mary Thomas, a professor in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, along with Tiyi Morris, associate professor in the Department of African American and African Studies, directs the Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project, or OPEEP. he program brings Ohio State classes and students to prisons in Ohio – currently, OPEEP is teaching at facilities in Lima, Mansfield, Lancaster, London and Marysville – allowing incarcerated individuals to take college classes.
By viewing almost 23,000 bumble bee-flower interactions over two years, researchers found that these bees don’t always settle for the most abundant flowers in their foraging area – suggesting they have more discerning dietary preferences than one might expect.
