Ohio State Newark to Host Buckeye Leadership Camp
Rising ninth through 12th grade students are invited to attend the inaugural Buckeye Leadership Camp, July 15 - 17, at The Ohio State University at Newark. The upcoming camp will give students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through informative sessions, hands-on workshops, small group activities and engagement with campus and community leaders.
Students who enroll at Ohio State Newark’s Buckeye Leadership Camp will gain exposure to subject matter that will help them identify their strengths, develop a plan to make a positive impact on their families, schools and communities, and understand how they can be a leader as they prepare for their college experience and beyond. If your student is entering grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 for the 2019 – 20 school year, you do not want to miss this opportunity! Our faculty and staff will lead one-hour sessions such as “The Value of Persistence: The Michael Jordan Model”; “Etiquette: Your Introduction, Handshake & Body Language”; “Leading with Compassion, Grit & Resiliency”; “Leaders Must Be Willing to Take Risks! - Talent Show & Karaoke”, “Your Network, Your Personal Board of Directors” and “What We Have Here is a Failure to Communicate.”
The Buckeye Leadership Camp is tailored for students who want to be agents of change. The camp was developed to provide leadership activities, knowledge and understanding for the leaders of tomorrow. During the camp at Ohio State Newark, students will also have the chance to dine in the university dining hall and learn more about college life from our students.
The Ohio State Newark Buckeye Leadership Camp cost is $50 per student. Some need-based scholarships may be available.
