March 23, 2020

Following guidance from the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding limiting the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), The Ohio State University at Newark has extended the cancellation of all student and public events through the end of June including upcoming summer camps for middle and high school students. Registrants will be contacted by Diane Kanney, Ohio State Newark director of enrollment, regarding any refunds.

Rising fifth through eighth-grade students are invited to be a Buckeye for a week, June 15-19, at The Ohio State University at Newark. The upcoming summer enrichment camp will give students the opportunity to explore academic disciplines and the college experience through sessions with Ohio State Newark’s world-renowned professors in the campus’s state-of-the-art facilities.

Students who enroll at Ohio State Newark’s Summer Enrichment Camp will be exposed to many different academic disciplines ranging from English to political science, art to sociology and biology and physics. If you have a son or daughter entering grades five, six, seventh or eighth for the 2020–2021 school year, you do not want to miss this opportunity! Students will explore the subjects of psychology, physics, composition, Spanish and much more! They will also have the opportunity to learn how to improve their study skills in a real college classroom.

These sessions will allow students to develop their own opinions, ideas, critical thinking skills, interact with college faculty and much more. During this week at Ohio State Newark, students will also have the chance to dine in the university dining hall and learn more about college life from our students.

The Ohio State Newark Summer Enrichment Camp cost is $250 per student due at the time of registration. Some need-based scholarships may be available.

Registration is open now at Register by June 2, 2020. Contact Diane Kanney, director of enrollment, at 740.366.9333 or for more information.
