This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ animated film, Yellow Submarine. When it premiered, Yellow Submarine received accolades from both critics and audiences. It’s also important for bringing interest to animation as a serious art form. Selections for the concert will include a number of selections from the film: Yellow Submarine, When I’m Sixty-Four, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, With a Little Help from My Friends and All You Need is Love along with other favorites by the Fab Four.
Chorus members will also sing a number of selections for the holidays including classical selections from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, Hanukkah songs and Christmas favorites.
The University Chorus is directed by Professor of Music Education Paul D. Sanders and accompanied by pianist, Jacqueline K. Dawson. Participation in the choral music program is open to students, staff and faculty, as well as members of the community. For additional information about this concert or joining University Chorus, please contact Dr. Sanders at firstname.lastname@example.org.
